Philadelphia Police Brutality:
This all occurred last night after the Bamboozle Road Show’s stop at the TLA. The bands pulled their van in the back alley to load out as the usual process, the South Street bike cops came through the alley, yelling at the bands to move their vans because they were not allowed to park. The bands asked the cops if they could have a few extra minutes so they could get all their gear out; cars rarely travel down that alley and there was no rush. The cops didn’t care and started writing a ticket for the parking violation. They made claims that the trailer tags were invalid and wanted to see proof of insurance but when the bands went to look for it, the cops replied “No time to wait, you’re getting a ticket anyway.” The bands were instructed to move so once they finished packing, they attempted to move the van, BUT they were given another ticket for a moving violation.
Four tickets were written and it upset Trevor (tour manager) so he tried to contest them and was arrested for what I’m assuming to be “obstruction of justice.” As they had him in handcuffs, Chris (who sells merch on the tour) tried to come outside to contest his arrest, he was yelled at to stay inside and in discussion the police lost patience and literally beat him back inside the door, then to the ground, and arrested him for “assaulting a police office” when he did not touch them nor gave them any incentive to think they were in danger. An office has the right to use force when he fears his own safety is in danger. A verbal argument is not justification to beat an innocent bystander with metal batons. After the cuffed him and picked him up, a large pool of blood was on the ground where his head was.
More yelling ensued outside. After a few minutes passed and we exchanged looks of horror standing by the blood, we saw our friend Ian (guitar tech) being thrown back inside with an officer yelling “I told you to stay inside!” Ian replied that he was just trying to do his job and load the equipment into the trailer, the cop had no patience for that, began to beat him and toss him into the door, sending him to the ground. He was turned over and cuffed immediately without any explanation as to why he was being arrested.
Please reblog, retweet, repost, reanything this video to spread the word that these acts of hate need to end. This is not the first time I witnessed the same exact cops abuse their power of authority. My band has played the TLA many times and I’ve been to many shows where the officers have no patience for touring musicians and have arrested friends on false terms.
EDIT: Let me make it known that I support the PPD and their right to “Serve and Protect.” My family has ties with the Philadelphia Police, I have several neighbors who are officers, a close family friend was one of the officers killed in action recently, and my brother is an officer in New Jersey. I do not support the fact that certain officers take their power of authority to an extreme level with no intention to protect the public, only to hurt them.

music saves.
i can always count on my favorite bands & musicians to save me from myself.
instead of being all angsty & dwelling on something that’s upseting me, i’m able to focus on this whole “CFOB” insanity that’s sweeping the internet world.
it seems to involve so many of bands that i love & it makes me excited & gives me something to anticipate & look forward to.
pete has obviously started all this so thanks to him.
maybe we'll escape & go into the water

diz-igner drugz & diz-igner friendz
so last saturday i checked the mail & 2 amazing items that i had ordered had arrived! very stoked.

snakes & suits are an amazing indie clothing company. if you don’t know about them you need to get on it! ((click here: snakes&suitsclothing to get in the know)) my dad tried to steal these from me b/c he likes them so much lol

and the much anticipated EMPIRES shirt! this band owns my ears okay? the shirt is kinda big b/c they were sold out of mediums & larges. so i had to get an XL. i may DIY & cut it up & sew the logo on another shirt lol
the awesome thing about both these items is that my name and address were hand written! because they’re awesome like that & do everything themselves. my shades were wrapped in a page from a chicago bulls calendar, which is super cool b/c it like probably belonged to johnny minardi or something haha
i know i’m a geek. <3
merch whore
At Warped I only spent my money on 2 things water & BAND MERCH<3

first purchase of the day, of course! a cobralicious design. kinda reminds me of old skool TMNT. “awww dip” XD

up next a fab TAI Tank. i think it’s very sisky business. love the bright colors & i’ve been wanting a band shirt for summer. tshirts get hot in 95+ weather. now i can stay cool & show my love :]

FBR + GK = LOVE. limited edition available only on Warped 08. Knew I had to get one as soon as I heard about it. :P

There were also some cool “The Quilt” themed shirts, but I just liked this one. Red is a fun color & that little dino dude on there rocks.

My last & possibly favorite purchase of the day! A COBRA RING. Man this thing is fierce. It’s adjustable, but it’s made of bronze so it’s not easily adjustable. lol Nevertheless, I am aaallllll over it! The tongue & the teeth are sharp & pointy. I may never take it off again. FANGS UP!
i'm a survivor
So Thursday was Warped Tour ‘08! 1 word: AMAZING.
this is me rolling VIP style during FFTL’s set on the VIP platform between the 2 main stages.

Yours truly with Mr. Michael Guy Chislett. My hair looks crappy but whatevz, it was hot out there! He was super nice & cool. TAI opened the show & thank Wentz we got cut passes otherwise we would have missed them. Chiz said “I usually wake up at like 10:30 & then they come in & tell me ‘your on in an hour’. It was crazy” lol

Jack The Camera Guy was the coolest person we met that day! He was so down to earth & we just chatted about TAI TV & the new album (August 19th people!!) William was standing near by signing stuff for this huge line of girls, but he kept turning around to talk with us. lol Anyways yeah Jack rocks my socks <3

Oh yes! That’s me & my best friend William Beckett lol Can you tell how freaking happy I am to be standing next to him?! Again, ignore my hair. Instead focus on the Awesomness standing next to me. Before this when I was talking to Jack, I mentioned how much I love the “Red Bus” episode & William was big into it and that’s how he joined our convo. I think all the teenybopper girls waiting in line to meet him were pissed b/c he took a pic w/ me even though I wasn’t in line & he kept turning & talking to us lol
Last, but not least, Danny Stevens of The Audition! Look! This time I remembered to let my hair down & try to look half way decent. haha I knew he was tall, but wow he’s stunning in person. lol He asked if we had their new album & I said “yeah! I have both your albums & i love them!” lol then he gave us double handed high fives & I told him to come tour in Albuquerque in the fall.
The only heartbreaking thing about that day (besides the heat) was that I never caught Gabe @ the Cobra merch table =( We checked back a few times, but alas it was not meant to be this time. Although I did see him more than once b/c he came on stage during Say Anything and Gym Class. lol
He also said my favorite quote of the day. Before showing anyone who wasn’t in the know how to do the FANGS UP hand sign he said “We’re not just a band…we’re a f*cking gang!” <333
Oh I also met George from Valencia, but Stacey wasn’t with me & I didn’t think to take out my phone & get a pic. I know, I know. :P
Needless to say I can’t wait for next year. A lot of the bands said they have fall tours planned though, so hopefully I’ll get to see them again soon.
xoxo
PS - yesterday my EMPIRES shirt came! As well as my SNAKES&SUITS sunglasses! I will post pix later this week.
